Black Bourbon Society Creates New Program, Whiskey with Maker’s Mark
Black Bourbon Society announced its new original program on Spirits Network, as part of a partnership with Maker’s Mark.
The program, “Barrel Select,” will feature Black Bourbon Society founders Samara Davis, along with her husband and partner Armond Davis. The show was shot at the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto, Ky., and focuses on the documentation of choosing a custom barrel from the Maker’s Private Selection stave portfolio. It is the organization’s second such barrel pick.
The whiskey was rested on a variety of wood staves, including Baked American Pure 2, Seared Frenc Cuvee staves, Maker’s Mark 46 staves, Roasted French Mendiant staves and Toasted French Spice staves.
The resulting barrel has been bottled and will be released in conjunction with the Black Barrel Society’s five-year anniversary, May 31. Bottles of the Black Bourbon Society’s Maker’s Mark Private Selection: Recipe 2 will hit shelves afterward in Louisville, Ky., Chicago, Ill., New York, N.Y., Atlanta, Ga., Tampa, Fla., and in select markets for online purchase via Spirits Network. Bottles will continue to roll out in California, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Alabama over the next year.
Bottles will be carry and SRP of $69.99.
