Color: Medium amber. I didn’t have a 12-year-old 100 proof product to compare this to, but I had a 10-year-old 100 proofer and it was two or three shades lighter. The color of bourbon offers great insight into its time in wood. 6 out of 10.

Nose: Extremely fruity and floral nose. The banana notes express themselves immediately, followed by the caramels, vanillas and a hint of nutmeg and a slight hint of cardamom. 36 out of 40.

Palate: The palate is slightly hot right off the bat, presenting a dry mouthfeel. The fruit, especially banana and pineapple, blossom a couple seconds in, and the baking spices, vanilla and caramel discover their spot. After the dissipation of the unexpected burn, the flavors are intense. The tingling finish warms the palate with a long finish layered in cinnamon. 40 out of 50.

Additional notes: This is a very delicious bourbon. I recommend it, but wouldn’t stand in a long line in the pouring rain for the whiskey. Of course, you need to taste to find out for yourself.
