A. Smith Bowman Launches High Rye Bourbon
Virginia-based A. Smith Bowman Distillery announced its new Limited Edition High Rye Bourbon today.
According to a press release, the mashbill contains five times more rye than A. Smith Bowman’s standard recipe. It’s seven years, nine months old and bottled at 100 proof.
In the release, Master Distiller Brian Prewitt said: “This high rye bourbon has such a distinct nose and taste profile that I think fans looking for a full-bodied bourbon with lots of spice will really enjoy. It’s been fun to release experiments like these, and we look forward to creating even more interesting expressions that are a good fit for our Abraham Bowman line in the future.”
This is the 12th release in the Abraham Bowman Limited Edition series. The distillery said the release’s limited quantity makes it “mostly” available “only” in Virginia. MSRP is $69.99.
