Bunnahabhain 40 YO Bottle Lifestyle SQUARE

Bunnahabhain, the renowned Islay distillery, announced the highly anticipated release of its coveted 30-year-old and 40-year-old single malts in the United States.

These whiskies, crafted in the remote reaches of the Hebrides and shaped by decades of maturation, bring a unique depth of flavor and sophistication that showcases Bunnahabhain’s commitment to producing some of the finest aged whiskies in the world.

Aged in sherry casks, the 30-year-old and 40-year-old expressions reflect the distillery’s unpeated style and signature coastal influences.

“Our 30- and 40-year-old whiskies are a tribute to Bunnahabhain’s dedication to quality and patience,” Juliann Fernandez, master distiller at Bunnahabhain, said in a news release. “These releases have been nurtured with the utmost care, allowing the complex layers of flavor to develop over time.”

Bunnahabhain 30 Year Whisky

(46.3% ALC/VOL, 92.6 Proof, 700 ML) – MSRP $999.99

The 30 Year Whisky was distilled in small batches and matured in 100% sherry casks. As the newest member of the Bunnahabhain core range family, this first batch release of a 30-year whisky is one of the distilleries’ oldest single malts. This expression, a rich and sweet dram, was matured exclusively in ex-sherry casks in coastal warehouses at the distillery and is non-chill filtered, with a natural color.

Bunnahabhain 40 Year Whisky

(41.9% ALC/VOL, 83.8 Proof, 700 ML) – MSRP $3,785.99

Bunnahabhain’s 40 Year Whisky, a single-malt Scotch whisky, was matured for four decades in a warehouse by the sea in casks that were all but forgotten until Bunnahabhain’s blending team discovered them while reviewing the warehouse ledgers. Sourced from the legendary wines and spirits merchant J.G Turney, these casks have been home to this stunning whisky for the past forty years.

Established in 1881, Bunnahabhain is the most northerly of the Islay distilleries and one of the most remote. Bunnahabhain takes its name from the Scottish Gaelic word for ‘mouth of the river’ and refers to the Margadale River from whose clear spring waters the whisky is distilled. Focused on sustainability, Bunnahabhain has the first Net Zero distillation on Islay and is known for its unpeated whisky, due to the pure spring water piped to the distillery and the use of unpeated barley. The combination of sherry casks, which deliver complexity, richness, and sweetness, with the coastal influence of the sea makes its whisky very unique and highly complex.
