Rolling Fork Drops Two Limited Rum Releases
Rolling Fork, the Indiana-based producer of award-winning rums, is releasing two new limited-quantity single-cask rums in time for National Rum Day on Aug. 16.
Rolling Fork is offering 114 bottles of its 5 YO Rum Distilled in Venezuela for $55 each, and 60 bottles of its 14 YO Rum Distilled in Fiji for $125 each. Both are available exclusively online.
“This is a unique flash-sale kind of release,” Rolling Fork Co-Founder Turner Wathen said. “We love being able to make these rare, single-cask rums available to customers through our online sales portal, and these two bottles represent our sweet spot: single-cask, aged rums that were matched to hand-selected ex-bourbon casks for secondary aging. We think they both turned out really beautifully and will go fast.”
Rolling Fork Co-founder Jordan Morris says that both of these rums developed some distinctive flavors from the secondary aging in wheated bourbon casks.
“The wheat softens the texture and complexity without overwhelming the rum and intensifying all of the flavors of the rum,” he said. “These are great sippers and I’d even recommend the 5 YO rum distilled in Venezuela in a cocktail, like a Gold Rush or Boulevardier.”
