Colorado-based Spirit Hound Distillers announced a pair of July whisky releases: a bottled-in-bond American single malt, and a single barrel rye. 

Fans of Spirit Hound’s highly flagship American Single Malt Whisky will celebrate the return of Spirit Hound’s 6-Year Single Barrel Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whisky. In addition to the extra time spent in barrels, the Bottled-in-Bond designation represents a higher standard of quality in modern-day craft whisky. 

“Our Bottled-in-Bond whisky program is a testament to Spirit Hound’s continued commitment to producing the highest quality whisky and spirits possible,” Craig Engelhorn, co-founder and head distiller of Spirit Hound Distillers, said. “It’s been incredible to see the amount of national attention and support we’ve received for our flagship American Single Malt Whisky and we truly feel this Bottled-in-Bond version continues to raise the bar for our whisky program.” 

Bottled-in-Bond whiskeys must adhere to the following requirements in order to earn the designation: 

• The spirit must be aged for at least four years. 
• The spirit must be bottled at precisely 100 proof (50% abv). 
• The spirit must made by one distiller at a single distillery in one season
• The spirit must be aged in a bonded warehouse. 

In addition to Spirit Hound’s recently released Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whisky, the Colorado distillery announced the release of its 4½-year Single Barrel Colorado Rye Whisky.

Boasting bold, spice-forward flavors, Spirit Hound’s single barrel Colorado Rye Whisky features an exclusive mix of barley and heirloom Colorado rye, distilled in Spirit Hound’s handmade copper still and aged in new, 53-gallon American Oak casks for over four years. 

Spirit Hound’s 6-Year Single Barrel Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whisky and Colorado Rye Whisky are available from both of Spirit Hound’s Colorado tasting room locations in Lyons and Denver, CO. Both releases will also be available across the state at over 100 of Spirit Hound’s partner retail locations.
