Buzzard’s Roost to Hit Six New Markets
Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey is kicking off 2025 by bringing its bourbons and ryes to consumers in six new markets.
The new states and distributor partners are: Alabama and Mississippi (Mad Vines), California (Collier Barnett), Iowa (Johnson Brothers), Michigan (Imperial Beverage), and New Hampshire (Ruby Wines). With these new markets, Buzzard’s Roost whiskeys can now be found in more than half of the country.
Additionally, the Buzzard’s Roost portfolio in Indiana is now represented by Johnson Brothers, to drive growth in that market.
Buzzard’s Roost Co-founder and CEO Judy Hollis Jones credits the growth to product quality and increased brand awareness across the country.
“We earned some exceptional accolades in 2024, including several 95+ ratings from Wine Enthusiast and the title of Best American Craft Rye from the International Whisky Competition,” Jones said in a news release. “This kind of recognition plus the distinctive flavors that we create from our proprietary double-oaking process has led to great excitement about our whiskeys.”
The expanded distribution makes Buzzard’s Roost available in a total of 26 markets including: Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C. and Alberta, Canada.
Since launching in 2022, Buzzard’s Roost has become known for the unique flavors that develop in its whiskeys during secondary maturation in barrels with proprietary toast profiles designed to coax out specific flavors from the wood.
Adding to its 2024 achievements Buzzard’s Roost started distilling its own bourbon at its distillery and tasting room on Whiskey Row in Louisville. This February will mark one year in-barrel for their first batch, produced by Lead Distiller Ethan Spalding and Master Blender Jason Brauner.
“We have some exciting new releases planned for 2025, while we wait for our new-make bourbons to develop in-barrel,” co-founder Brauner said. “We know our customers love small-batch and single barrel releases, so we keep the pipeline full of interesting new whiskeys.”
