Westward Whiskey announced the release of its final club release of 2024, Westward Whiskey Oloroso Sherry Cask. 

Finished in French oak casks first used to age sherry in Spain’s famed Jerez region, this dram invites tasters to embark on an elevated flavor journey that spans from Oregon to Spain.

Embracing exploration, Westward crossed the Atlantic to curate casks from a vineyard that’s been pursuing sherry perfection for four generations. Just as the American Northwest is the ideal setting for whiskey, the climate of Spain’s Jerez region has made it the perfect place to craft celebrated sherries for centuries. 

This whiskey enjoyed a two-year secondary maturation in these casks – far surpassing the standard timeframe for sherry cask-aged whiskeys, allowing it to develop toasted, nutty, and autumnal characteristics. The result: a standout take on a beloved finish that melds the best elements of Oloroso sherry and American whiskey.
