Chattanooga Whiskey Releases Persimmon Infused Expression
Chattanooga Whiskey has announced the newest release in their Experimental Single Batch Series – Batch 041: Persimmon Infused.
Made with over 140 pounds of dried persimmons, this fall-inspired bourbon liqueur is made with 100% pot-distilled bourbon and an eight-ingredient infusion of dried fruits, spices, and botanicals.
“For this release, our team decided to ‘opt out’ of pumpkin spice and focus on one of the more underrated fall and winter fruits: persimmons,” Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller, said in a news release. “This fruit has one of the most unique flavor profiles of any tree fruit – and naturally complements our high malt style of bourbon.”
Made with a blend of five bourbon mash bills, each recipe was aged for more than three years in toasted and charred oak prior to an infusion of persimmons, dates, fenugreek seeds, gentian, vanilla, cinnamon, orange peel, cardamom, and cane sugar. Crafted from only five barrels, this unique blend of bourbons includes multiple varieties of smoked, roasted, and toasted malt, which naturally complement the character imparted by the all-natural infusion.
“One of the main reasons we believe our liqueurs are so popular is that each one utilizes 100% real whiskey and real ingredients,” McCracken said. “This approach allows our distillers to pull the full spectrum of flavors from each and every ingredient – thereby allowing for nearly complete control over the liqueur’s final flavor profile.”
Batch 041: Persimmon Infused will be available at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery at $54.99 for a 750ml bottle and available online for shipping to select states on Seelbachs.com. It is bottled at 90.4 proof.
