Barrell Craft Spirits announced the release of two new Gray Label whiskey expressions, 13-Year-Old Bourbon and 19-Year-Old Seagrass Rye.

13-Year-Old Gray Label Bourbon

The barrels harvested for this limited release were selected for their refined properties and extraordinary flavor profile. This complex blend was created with hand selected barrels ranging from 13 to 19 years old, and is an opulent bourbon with notes of dark chocolate, Amarena cherry, vanilla and brûléed orange.

The bourbons in the blend were distilled in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and Wyoming.

This will retail for $159.99 and is available now in stores and online.

19-Year-Old Gray Label Seagrass

The Gray Label Seagrass is an older, richer version of the core Barrell Seagrass. The last release in 2022 was age-stated at 16 years, and this year’s release is significantly older, at 19 years. As with Seagrass, this is a blend of American and Canadian rye whiskeys, with each ingredient meticulously sourced and finished separately in Martinique Rhum, Madeira & apricot brandy barrels.

The foundation of BCS Gray Label Seagrass began with two groups of 19-year-old 100% Canadian Rye barrels – one with bright citrus and crisp green apple notes and the other with earthy spearmint notes. A portion of the first group was finished in Apricot Brandy casks, a portion of the second group was finished in Martinique rhum barrels, and a blend of the first and second groups was finished in Malmsey Madeira barrels. 

When each set of secondary maturation flavors peaked, those casks were pulled and slowly married into the final blend.
