Filmland Spirits announced the world premiere of its latest release, QUADRAFORCE, a straight bourbon whiskey. 

The bourbon, originally distilled in four separate states, hail from four different grains – each aged at least four years in charred new American white oak barrels. This single bourbon is available in four different label editions, each featuring one of the QUADRAFORCE heroes and representing one of the four states of distillation.

Launched in 2022, Filmland Spirits was born from an enthusiasm for whiskey, a passion for movies and a dedication to story-telling. The Filmland team believes that every whiskey has a story, and every story deserves a whiskey. The result is a creative pairing of an original retro B-Movie concept – complete with monsters, robots and over-the-top plots – with a delicious and unique whiskey – each of which has already won a Gold or Double Gold Medal. 

Even the bottles tell part of the story as they are custom-designed to reflect the art deco style of mid-twentieth century cinemas and feature movie posters as labels.

“QUADRAFORCE is an idea we’ve had since the first days of Filmland,” Troy Bolotnick, Founder and CEO of Filmland Spirits, said in a news release. “We knew the story was going to be about four heroes uniting against evil, and we wanted to pair that story with a blend of four unique bourbons.  

“Over the last several years, we’ve been tasting and acquiring some of the finest whiskeys available in the U.S. This past spring, it became clear to the team that we had uncovered four exceptional bourbons from across the country that could join forces into one extraordinary blend and the time was right for QUADRAFORCE.”

In keeping with the Filmland Spirits creative process, the newest expression was inspired by an original B-movie concept. QUADRAFORCE: Behold the Blend of 4 tells the tale of a parallel universe where in April of 1944, the United States is ravaged by World War II. The powers of evil have unleashed a vicious attack, and as the dust from an atomic test gone wrong clears, four ordinary Americans emerge – survivors, but each now equipped with distinct and impressive super powers. The QUADRAFORCE heroes are:‍

Kentucky Anna “The Blue Grass Blaze” – Weapons expert, Lieutenant Annabella Li emerged from the blast with the ability to control waves of light and levitate. Now she races home to stop the derby from turning deadly.‍

Cali Comet “The Tinseltown Titan” – Filming a newsreel when the fission fizzled, Calvin Carson’s Hollywood dream became reality. Now graced with super strength, the ability to fly and shoot fire from his hands, he’s leading the way to save America.‍

Tennessee Terra “The Music City Maverick” – When a blistering surge of atomic energy zapped Tamara Solum, PhD, this Nashville seismologist gained super strength, the power to control gravity and the limestone-rich soil beneath her feet.‍

Mr. Mysteron “The Sensei of Surprise” – Who is he? Where is he from? The only thing more mysterious is what he’ll be able to do next. His post-apocalyptic abilities are unstable, unpredictable and ever-changing, morphing each time he uses them. 

“Creating the QUADRAFORCE 4 grain blend was a painstaking (albeit pleasant) process of identifying the very specific flavors, textures and aromas in each of the individual bourbons and how those could come together in just the right ratio to make something we are so very proud of,” Bolotnick said.

QUADRAFORCE Bourbon is a limited-edition release of 6,000 bottles and became available for presale on Sept. 1 at filmlandspirits.com. Each label edition will be available in all markets. The Filmland Spirits portfolio is now available on shelves and backbars in 10 states (Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Nevada and Washington state) as well as available for purchase online.
