Barrel Global to Partner With Still Austin
As Texas Whiskey continues to give Kentucky and Tennessee a run for their money with its booming distillery scene and distinctive sense of terroir, a new partnership between two industry trailblazers is announced. U.S.-based Barrel Global will partner with Still Austin Whiskey Co. to expand its barrel ownership offering into Texas.
Starting today, Barrel Global will offer new make barrels through its online portal www.barrelglobal.com.
Since its founding, Still Austin has been on a mission to create whiskeys that capture the essence of Austin’s spirit and creativity. By partnering with local farmers and employing sustainable practices, the brand has carved out a niche in the craft whiskey market. Using a custom 42-foot column still – affectionately named “Nancy” – Still Austin combines state-of-the-art technology with traditional methods to produce whiskey with unmatched depth and complexity.
Featuring a mashbill of 70% white corn, 25% brasetto rye and 5% wildfire malted barley, the Still Austin barrels available through Barrel Global utilize grains sourced exclusively from Texas farmers. These non-GMO grains are milled, mashed, fermented and distilled on-site – ensuring that every sip captures the true essence of Texas.
Aged in sustainably sourced oak barrels, each whiskey draws out the natural flavors of the wood while the unique Texas climate adds an extra layer of character – making every bottle a testament to the region’s influence.
“As we looked at the inspiring American craft whiskey landscape, we were intrigued by the incredible output from Texas distilleries, as the state has really cemented itself as a key area for whiskey production in the U.S.,” Barrel Global founder George Koutsakis said in a news release. “In particular, Still Austin really captivated the Barrel Global team with its dedication to sourcing grains from local farmers and employing sustainable practices while showcasing the vibrancy of Austin and the larger Texas whiskey movement through its packaging and award-winning portfolio of whiskey.”

Barrel Global: A Refresher
Through its online portal www.barrelglobal.com, consumers schedule an intake call with a representative from the company’s bourbon experts to request a barrel reservation. Consumers may request samples from various Still Austin barrels to truly personalize their selection. Upon payment, legal certification is issued to the buyer conveying full barrel rights to the purchaser.
During the maturation process, barrels will be stored in Texas at Still Austin’s warehouse facilities. Along the way, owners may schedule visits to the distillery or warehouse to check on their barrel – and pull samples to check on its taste profile and color.
At the bottling stage, Barrel Global facilitates the design, packaging, and legally compliant shipping of bottles. Barrel Global further customizes the experience by allowing consumers to create personalized labels. For buyers looking to sell bottles commercially, Barrel Global helps with obtaining a COLA (certification/exemption of label/bottle approval) and complying with the three-tier system – both legal requirements of buying and selling spirits in the U.S. market. Additionally, at any point of barrel ownership, the customer may resell the barrel to another interested party.
In addition to the Still Austin Whiskey Company, current Barrel Global distilling partners include Kings County Distillery in New York, Dueling Grounds Distillery in Franklin, Kentucky, and Law’s Whiskey House in Colorado, among others. For hotels and retail outlets, Barrel Global also offers immediate inventory of aged stock from Kentucky-based Green River Distilling Co.
