A power outage at Heaven Hill Bernheim distillery caused the spillage of a few hundred gallons of whiskey, according to reports.

Multiple news outlets, including WLKY and WHAS in Louisville, reported the incident yesterday.

It was reported that the outage happened around 9:45 a.m. on Monday. During the outage, the whiskey spilled, although it was not reported exactly how that happened. But reports stated that fire alarms went off, prompting Louisvlle firefighters to respond to the distillery.

Investigators reportedly deduced that the outages was caused due to work on-site by an independent contractor. Power was restored and the all-clear was indicated just over an hour later.

The spill will be monitored by the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District, but Heaven Hill Director of Kentucky Distillation Conor O’Driscoll told WLKY there was “no cause of concern to surrounding neighbors.”
