Buffalo Trace Distillery, ahead of the opening of its London location on Monday, May 5, is commandeering a phone booth for a special promotion.

That’s right, a phone booth.

Visitors to Covent Garden over the coming weekend can get a surprise tasting May 4 and 5. If the phone rings and they answer it, they will be eligible for a private tasting at the new Buffalo Trace location nearby. It’s just a matter of whether anyone will answer.

New research commissioned by Buffalo Trace Distillery revealed that a quarter of Brits rarely do anything spontaneously. Additionally, 40% confirmed they wouldn’t pick up an unexpected call from an unknown number, and 26% prefer to communicate via social media instead of over the phone. That said, one in five revealed that answering an unplanned call had led to something surprisingly good.

So, what exactly is on the other side of this particular call? A guaranteed tasting of some of Buffalo Trace Distillery’s rarest and most coveted bourbon for two people at Buffalo Trace Distillery London. The impressive tasting lineup, available only for this special activation, will feature: O.F.C. Vintage, George T. Stagg, Weller 12 Year, Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year and Eagle Rare 25 Year.

The tasting will take place immediately after the call, so spontanaity is a must. Particpants must be at least 18.
