Ilegal Mezcal Introduces 7 Year Añejo1

Ilegal Mezcal announced the launch of its 7 Year Añejo expression, produced artisanally in Oaxaca, Mexico. Presented in a striking limited-edition bottle with a distinctive label and jet black wax, the final liquid is aged for over seven years in 35 barrels of French Oak, Ilegal Mezcal 7 Year Añejo is smooth and especially rare.

Ilegal helped introduce the world to aged mezcal with its Reposado and Añejo expressions, and this new expression further expands their showcasing of barrel aged innovation and craft. Meant to be savored on celebratory occasions, the 7 Year Añejo makes for an exceptional gift, or an ideal sidekick to break out on a special night.

Like the entire Ilegal portfolio, this Añejo is handcrafted in small batches by fourth generation mezcaleros, made with perfectly ripe, sustainable Espadín agave. Mezcals have been aged in wood barrels, glass demijohns, and clay canteros since the 1700s, often in small batches and saved for special celebrations. Ilegal Mezcal takes this tradition a step further with the 7-Year Añejo, providing a singular and extraordinary tasting experience.

The 7 Year enters select markets this month in 750ml bottles at SRP $175; availability is extremely limited. For more information on Ilegal Mezcal’s entire portfolio, visit ilegalmezcal.com.
