Founded in 2011, Glendalough Distillery began distilling the traditional Irish spirit Poitín and has since used the backdrop of the Wicklow mountains to distill its whiskey and gin. Now, the distillery is giving away a chance to win a four-day visit.

This year, Glendalough was named “Irish Distillery of the Year” by the New York Spirits Competition and it is celebrating with the drawing.

Over 4 days the winners will:

• Spend a morning walking through beautiful, bountiful Wicklow to hand-forage fresh, wild botanicals with our full-time forager Geraldine Kavanagh.
• Visit Glendalough Distillery where you’ll meet our distilling team and help to craft that day’s batch of Glendalough Wild Botanical Gin.
• Spend 2 nights at The Wicklow Escape, one of the region’s most exclusive luxury breaks, for bed, breakfast and their renowned immersive dining experience.

Glendalough Distillery’s Botanical Forager, Geraldine Kavanagh, forages wild plants from the mountains around the distillery to make the gin products. What’s picked goes fresh into the still within hours. All the plants are sustainably foraged by one person, and every day distilling takes place.

The cut-points are then decided batch by batch, by smell and taste – never timed or automated.
