Chattanooga Whiskey Celebrates 10 Years with New Release
Chattanooga Whiskey announced the release of its Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blend. Formulated by Founder & CEO Tim Piersant, this release marks a major milestone for the company.
Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blendis a marriage of three whiskey recipes distilled in both Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lawrenceburg, Ind. – including two Tennessee High Malt mash bills, known as “smoked” and “SB091.”
In the Spring of 2012, the distillers began blending and bottling “1816” – an award-winning whiskey that helped overturn century-old distilling laws. While eventually succeeded by their own signature “Barrel 91” recipe, the whiskey’s impact has never been forgotten.
After three to four years of primary and secondary aging, casks of the original “1816” recipe (the third mash bill featured in the blend, known as “1816RES”) are transferred into the signature 650-gallon charred oak 1816 barrel. Here, casks of different ages marry together until ready for inclusion into the Anniversary Blend.
“We are not only celebrating 10 years of Chattanooga Whiskey,” said Tim Piersant, “but also celebrating the blending of the past, present, and future of Chattanooga Whiskey.”
Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blend is bottled at 100 proof, has an SRP of $49.99 and is crafted exclusively at the Chattanooga Whiskey Riverfront Distillery.
