Four Gate Whiskey Releases Batch 16: Rye DownUnder
Four Gate Whiskey Company has announced its latest release of barrel finished craft American whiskey: Rye DownUnder.
Rye DownUnder, Batch 16, is a 7-year, Indiana-distilled Rye Whiskey with a mash bill of 95% rye, 5% malted barley, finished in Apera Sherry Casks imported from Australia by Kelvin Cooperage. Just 2,168 bottles of this batch were produced.
Rye DownUnder marks the latest in Four Gate Whiskey Company’s Rye releases. The Company first released a Rye Whiskey in 2020, a 7-year unfinished Straight Rye Whiskey, and promised to follow-up that release by presenting the same underlying whiskey with different barrel finishes over the next several years.
Batch 16 was bottled at 110.2 proof and carries an SRP of $185. It will be available in stores and on bars in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, and for the first time, Texas.
“We’re thrilled to be in the Lone Star State,” said Chief Blending Officer Bill Straub, “We’ve been getting requests almost since Day 1 from individuals and businesses in the state to bring Four Gate Whiskey Company to Texas and it feels really good to finally be able to say it’s happening.”
Bottles are also available online through Seelbachs.com, BourbonOutfitter.com, and Caskers.com.
