Barrell Announces Release of Gray Label, Batch 31
A new expression of Barrell Craft Spirits ‘Gray Label’ Whiskey will become available in November.
The barrels acquired for this release include two 24-year-old Canadian whiskey barrels, with a portion of one being finished into an Oloroso Sherry barrel and the other was finished in Armagnac casks. The barrels were chosen for their disparate flavor profiles, one fruit-forward and one more earthy.
The blend was bottled at 121.64 proof. Pre-order bottles here.
Barrell also announced the impending release of Barrell Bourbon Batch 31, a blend of 6, 7, 10, 15 and 16-year-old barrels. The blend was built around a group of 99% corn Bourbon barrels and a group of wheated bourbon barrels. To bridge these two groupings, 15- and 16-year-old barrels were added for their nuttiness and oak. Finally, a selection of 10-year-old barrels was added.
The whiskeys come from distilleries in Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, and Batch 31 will be bottled at 111.2 proof.
