Buffalo Trace Adds Two New Sodas to Freddie Johnson Line
Buffalo Trace Distillery announced it will add two new soft drinks to its Freddie’s Old Fashioned Soda lineup.
Ginger ale and ginger beer are the two new entries, joining the original, Freddie’s Old Fashioned Root Beer. The full lineup will hit select retail markets and also will be available in the Buffalo Trace gift shop by mid-November.
The soft drink line pays homage to Bourbon Hall of Famer Freddie Johnson, a longtime tour guide at Buffalo Trace. In his 18 years at the distillery, he has become well known for his vibrant personality and ability to entertain guests with his storytelling.
The labels will depict Johnson’s image and his catchphrases, “Isn’t that neat?” and “Hey daddy-o!” The ginger ale will be bottled in green glass, while the ginger beer will be bottled in clear glass.
Meanwhile, the caps will be orange and will feature Johnson’s signature thumbs up, while bottle carriers will feature scenes of the distillery and of Johnson fishing along the banks of the Kentucky River.
The sodas will be priced at $1.25 per bottle.
