Brown Water Spirits Releases Whiskey Aged on Mississippi River
Perhaps taking a cue from Jefferson’s Ocean, Brown Water Spirits announced the release of O.H. Ingram River Aged Straight Whiskey, which is aged in a floating rickhouse on the Mississippi River.
Ocean, of course, is the bourbon from Jefferson’s Reserve that is aged while traveling across the oceans. O.H. Ingram, according to a news release, is aged on a moored rickhouse on the riverbank in Ballard County, Ky., exposing it to the climate fluctuations associated with the river.
The release also notes that, because of the constant motion of the river, the barrel never stops moving.
A straight rye aged in this manner will be released in November. Meanwhile, O.H. Ingram, bottled at 96 proof, will be available in portions of Tennessee and a handful of other markets.
