In the latest episode of The Fred Minnick Show, he brings in Daniel Ledinksy, of the Los Angeles-based band The Neverly Boys, one of Fred’s favorites (particularly the song “Let Love In”).

The conversation starts with a shared love of sushi and continues on through a variety of topics, such as making a living through creating music, cocaine, how to drink whiskey for the flavor and not the effect, the influence of The Everly Brothers on the band and its name, Daniel’s home country of Sweden, the world’s view of America, plus lots more. Along the way, we get to hear Fred’s true confessions about his hatred for vodka.

But of course a lot of the focus was on the whiskey. Here’s what they tasted – Daniel drank from his unwashed Wonder Woman coffee cup:

Redbreast Irish Whiskey 12 year old

Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 year old

McKenzie Bourbon Whiskey

Weller Single Barrel

Some of the best fun of this episode is watching Fred try to teach Daniel how to drink bourbon like a pro. “I’ve got to be a bum, a little bit,” Daniel says in defense of his mug.

Also, here’s Fred’s favorite Neverly Boys song:
