New Beam Suntory Whiskeys
Who wants 12- to 13-year-old Knob Creek? If that’s you, well, you’re in luck: Beam Suntory is launching a limited edition Knob Creek 25th Anniversary cask strength and unfiltered bourbon. The single barrel product will consist of only 300 barrels, the company said.
It hits shelves in June with a $130 MSRP. Huffington Post’s Tony Sachs initially reported this Knob Creek release.
In addition, the company is launching a Basil Hayden’s Rye in April. But the company has been hush-hush on this whiskey with few details leaked and bottles randomly appearing in stores.
But I recall Basil Hayden rye rumors as far back as 2008, and it became a running joke about its release. Now, we can say it’s finally here.
The limited edition, limited time Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey uses a small amount of re-barreled rye. According to the company, the re-barreled rye begins as a four-year-old traditional rye whiskey, which is then dumped out and aged an additional seven years in newly charred, quarter cask oak barrels. It’s 80 proof and $44.99.
