Buffalo Trace Names New Small Batch Product After Its Master Distiller, Harlen Wheatley
Buffalo Trace Distillery has launched a new product, naming it after master distiller Harlen Wheatley. Only it’s not Harlen Wheatley Small Batch Bourbon, it’s Wheatley Vodka.
Made from North Dakota soft red winter wheat and corn, Wheatley Vodka is only available in the Buffalo Trace gift shop. The corn is distilled seven times separately from wheat, which is distilled seven times. After the two ingredients have been distilled, they are married and distilled again three more times. Wheatley Vodka comes off the still at 191 proof, is triple filtered (not chill filtered) and bottled at 82 proof.
How does it taste? Well, it’s certainly a vodka.
